The present Building of Bazm-e-Quran

From the year 1985, the present premises at No. 1. Maroof Sahib Street, Anna Salai, Chennai- 600 002 became the centre of administration and activities of Bazm-e-Quran. However, the building was not the same as it is today.

In the early stages of its growth , the S.I.E.T. management was kind enough to make available the administrative block of the S.I.E.T.Campus for the meetings and administrative work of Bazm-e-Quran. This apart, the said Trust also came out with financial support from time to time or whenever a contingency arose.

Thanks to the extollable efforts of Dr. Syed Khaleefathullah Sahib, his tenure as Secretary and presently as President, witnessed cospicuous developmental activity and the the first and second floors of the building came up during his period as the General Secretary.

In the Executive Committee meeting held on 18-02-1990 a decision was taken to construct the first floor. By June 1990 the construction was completed and it was inaugurated on 16-09-1990. The extension of working space enabled Bazm-e-Quran to start vocational courses in Type- Writing and Tailoring from the year 1991.

As a further expansion of the building, a proposal to construct the second floor was accepted in the Executive Committee meeting held on 08-03-1999. Construction began and it came up accordingly.

To support the activities of Bazm-e-Quran the ground floor was converted into three shops for commercial purposes. They were let out for rent and the rental income derived from the shops, however small though it may be, gets utilized for the activities of Bazm-e-Quran.

On the first floor Bazm-e-Quran Arabic Madarasa and Bazm-e-Quran Tailoring Institute and on the second floor Bazm-e-Quran Computer Academy and the administrative office of Bazm-e-Quran are now functioning.

Recently, in 2008 the terrace has been developed into a multi-purpose hall at a cost of Rs. 4 lakhs. Tusser structure equipped with sufficient amenities and lighting has been put up. The new structure now serves as a prayer hall for men, meeting hall and it houses the Bazm-e-Quran Islamic Centre and Library. It is a big blessing that congregational (Jamat) Namaz for men is being held here every day.
